A video of PageBuilder being used.

We’re happy to introduce PageBuilder,

an application that helps you make, share, and print your own picture cards. It’s drag and drop easy and you can get started right away by clicking the giant green button up top. Go ahead and make something inside, and if you like it, you can register from inside and save and print your cards.

Bugfixes and a Featured File - A Social Story

A couple of bugs were fixed today that were catching some folks. First, the video that plays at the beginning of PageBuilder, while very helpful, would get stuck on screen for people with very low screen resolution. They couldn't see the continue button! I got a few emails about this and now it's fixed. Let us know if you are still having issues with that.

Also, re-logging in from inside of PageBuilder was broken and is now properly functioning. Sorry about that!

And I also want to start pointing out some creative or noteworthy files that have been made. So our first featured file is by Tammy McMinn of Marion Elementary School. Tammy made an awesome social story called "Summer School- Kaleb". It looks like a little storybook and is a really creative use of PageBuilder for building materials beyond just cards. Search for "Kaleb" in the Find panel and you'll see it.

PageBuilder just got smarter!

Tonight we added a really useful upgrade to PageBuilder. Now when you drop a deck on a page, it won't erase your existing cards and will add pages if needed. Also, if you drop a template on a page and have less cards in the template than were on the page (and would have lost cards), new pages will be added.

So try dropping a deck or template on a page and see what happens! We think you'll find it's more intuitive and you'll be able to make much better use of the Deck Search for grabbing user made decks.

And by the way, Kristin and I had a baby this week! (Sorry to anyone who sent a support email over the past couple of days... I'm all caught up now but there was a bit of a delay while we were in the hospital.)

His name is Elliot and we are thrilled.

Searching For Short Words

Recently, we noticed that very short words were not showing up when searched for in the Card Search box. "Yes", "No", and "Dog", for example, showed you no cards when searching for them.

Well of course there are cards named Yes, No, and Dog!

The problem was that there was a bug and now it's been fixed. So if you've ever searched for a short word that you just knew should be available, give it another shot.

Group subscriptions and Multiple Pages

We've got some fun new things to announce.

First, there's group subscriptions. Now, that might not be exactly "exciting" for many of you but it's actually pretty convenient. If you head on over to the Groups and  Gifts page, you'll see exactly how it works. Basically, though, you buy a key that has a certain number of uses, and then you can give the key to whoever you want. It works great not only for folks in schools or companies, but also if you just know someone that could use PageBuilder to make some cards.

Along with that, we've got a often requested new feature... multiple pages per file in PageBuilder! This helps especially with templates that have big cards... now instead of having to save multiple files you can just pile them all into one.

And this is a little one, but our forums now support a nicer text editor. So you can express yourself with such hits as italics, bold, and even a collection of smilies

We really don't mess around here.

PageBuilder Update: Fonts, Borders, and Colors

We're excited to announce some highly requested features. Double click any card to see the new and improved Card Editor. Inside, you'll see the fun stuff...

  • New Fonts - Comic Sans, Century Gothic, and a few more playful ones.
  • Change Font Size and Color
  • Change Border Size and Color
  • Change Background Color
  • Copy Style to another card, page, or deck with one drag and drop action

These changes make it easy to, say, convert your entire page to text only. Just edit one card, get it looking how you like, and then drag the Copier card in the card editor to the page and watch all of the cards change to match that style. You'll be able to play around with different looks really easily.

Also, since you can change font size on the card labels, text-only cards have a whole new level of usefulness.

About Mrs. Riley

Mrs. Riley was created so professionals, teachers, and parents could collaboratively make educational materials, starting with picture cards. If you've ever made a picture card with a custom image yourself, you know that it can be tedious. We understand and after going through it ourselves for so long, we decided to wrap the entire process into a single online application.
