Where do you look?

My specialty is web development, but since joining the team here at Mrs. Riley I've been doing all the autism and special needs research I can. Google gives a huge array of sites, but I'm interested in what the community really flocks to.

So, this is one for any teachers/parents/specialists. Where do you go to get the latest news and information about autism, Asperger, and other special needs?

Highlights

Hello,

Awesome website! You should look into teaming up with Highlights (http://www.highlights.com) which is a very educational magazine for children.

Congratulations on getting the site going!

Vague/Abstract ideas...?

Any suggestions for how to find vague or abstract ideas to make a card?

Example: My son has a problem right now with pushing. I'm trying to get across that if he pushes his sister, that he will get a certain consequence. I have a First/Then board, and I need to make the appropriate cards...

I'm still pretty new to this, but pictures are my son's lifeline. He can read, but it doesn't always get through (he's 5 1/2, if that helps.)

Thanks!
Lucette :)

About Mrs. Riley

Mrs. Riley was created so professionals, teachers, and parents could collaboratively make educational materials, starting with picture cards. If you've ever made a picture card with a custom image yourself, you know that it can be tedious. We understand and after going through it ourselves for so long, we decided to wrap the entire process into a single online application.
