I am also having a great time and I'm spreading the word as fast as my mouth can move! I would like to make some suggestions:

1. every time I want a new card, I have to go through multiple clicks to get to the new card search. I would find it very useful to have an icon for "new card" window in the row of icons above the workpage.

2. Is it possible to set your default search. For example, my preference is yahoo/google. I would love it if that were the first tab on the search page so I could just start typing instead of requiring an extra click to get off of "my images".

3. I think it would be nice to have the saved sheets also listed by author. That way you could search for sheets by author once you know who you like. I guess you could have an anonymous option as well

4. Some flexibility in terms of fonts would be nice. As a Montessori early childhood teacher, I would perhaps choose a font that more similar to handwriting...Maybe even cursive!

That was awesome!
Thanks and I agree on all fronts.

We've made recent changes that are pretty close to 1 and 2.
3 is definitely going to be possible as we expand the (currently minimal) community functions.

4 is also definitely going to happen... can't say when but it's high on the list. Understood about the font and a few people have mentioned the "a" in Arial as being confusing for some folks with problems generalizing.

And another thing I'm noticing that I would find helpful:

a button for "apply to all" i.e. to switch all the cards on the page to a different style. This would be useful because there are times when I want the same page in both labeled and unlabeled formats (see my saved pages if I'm not making sense). The way I've been doing it now requires double-clicking on each individual card. And my motto is: reduce the clicks!!

Thanks for the new card window. Very helpful. I also like how when I click on New Card, the search term remains without having to retype it.

Btw, is there a reason you chose Yahoo over Google?

Hi Ayelet,

Agreed on the ability to change the style of all cards on a page at once. That is planned, though how it is done is still up for discussion.

As far as Yahoo over Google, it is simply because Yahoo exposes their search code internals to other developers in an easy to use manner. Google, not so much.

Fantastic site! I am enjoying it so far. One suggestion would be to have all print start with a lower case letter rather than an upper case, currently some are upper and some are lower. Just a small thing, but, it takes time to switch them.
Thanks again for a wonderful product!

DenaS -

Thanks and welcome! We just crossed 1500 users today about 20 days since launch.

Good point. A reasonable request for sure... I'll add it to the list.

I love this site. Thanks so much for all your work so far. Here's my question.

1. When I go to upload pictures from my computer (that I've previously collected for a page), would it be possible to select all and upload at the same time?

2. Is there a way to make a new collection for myself? And then, of course, upload images to that collection?

Thanks again.
-Ann

Hi Ann,

1. Right now you can only upload one picture at a time. We'll explore bulk uploading possibilities in the future.

2. When you upload an image it does not get shared with anyone else until you put it on a card which is on a public page. I'd suggest this:

- Hit New Card
- Upload your image
- Choose "Use This Image"
- Drag the resulting card into the Deck lists in "My Saved Stuff"
- This will create a new deck. The Deck Properties will pop up and you can change the name of the deck
- Repeat the process but for each additional card, drag the card to the Cards List in My Saved Stuff with that Deck selected.

Doing this is just a handy way to keep these cards available to you without needing to hit New Card, choose the image, and rename it every time.

Hi, Ben. I've been away busy with other stuff for a bit. I notice that everything is attributed to an author now. Is there a way to search for files by author (like click on authors name to find other submissions by same author)?

How do image resolutions work in PageBuilder? I've found that the images I get from Yahoo/Flikr have fairly low resolutions, is that just because of the images themselves or is there a restriction?

Images from Yahoo are random... it's whatever the original site posted. Flickr photos are small, around 500px wide. When you upload a photo it gets resized to 500px wide as well.

About Mrs. Riley

Mrs. Riley was created so professionals, teachers, and parents could collaboratively make educational materials, starting with picture cards. If you've ever made a picture card with a custom image yourself, you know that it can be tedious. We understand and after going through it ourselves for so long, we decided to wrap the entire process into a single online application.
