Hi,
This site looks like it could be very useful to me. However, I'm having some troubles. It won't let me choose a template so I can get started. When I look for pics on Flicker or yahoo it only brings up a few choices even with a broad topic like Washington, DC. Then, when I hit the feedback button and typed my queries, it wouldn't send it. Can you help? TIA, uuhsmama

Clicking/dragging on the templates does not do anything for me, no matter which one I choose -- it just doesn't respond at all. Neither can I click/drag a picture over to the blank document.
Most of the pictures from flicker were very random shots and could have been taken in any city. It was worse from yahoo -- the only shots that came up were from one person's trip to the Gay Pride parade, so, needless to say, that didn't work for my purposes ;^) After my initial post to you, I had much better luck searching for something more specific like the Washington Monument, so maybe that is the key. But when I am doing a foreign city, I might not know what to ask for. (I'm interested in making geography cards.)
Oh! Someone posted to the MMShare (Montessori) yahoo group today that she cannot even get past your "captcha" phase to get signed up or even to report the problem to you.
We Montessori folks are excited about the possibilities of this site for us. We do a lot with 3-part cards, but as a homeschooling mom, I can't always afford the commercially prepared ones and I'm not computer-literate enough to make my own. Plus, (as you know) it is just so time-consuming. Do you think you could make a template for this? In other words, there would be one card with the picture and the label, one with just the picture, and one with the label only. At the elementary level, cards would also have more text with definitions, additional info, etc. Would you like me to send you a link as an example? Or is this going beyond your original mission?
Thanks again for providing this service. I'll be happy to pay for it in the future if the price is reasonable and I am able to make it work for us.

I would love an option to just use one card with a picture and a label. We homeschool a special needs child and single cards are great for building vocabulary. Just like the above poster, I can't afford to buy the expensive ones:-)

Maybe your version of Flash is old? Try upgrading Flash and see if dragging templates works for you.

I heard from one person about having issues with the Captcha. It's tough because if the Captcha is blocking folks, they can't sign up and can't send messages. I'll check and see how often it's failing. Definitely need to investigate that.
So, as far as this template you're looking for, you can accomplish this with the current features. If you start with a 3x3 template, put a card in the first slot. Then drag it to the 2nd and 3rd slots to the right so you have copies of it. Then double click on the 2nd card and the card editor will pop up. You can then choose to show picture only. Double click on the 3rd card, and the Card Editor will change to target that card. Then you can choose to show text only.
Of course we can make a 3 card template where they take up the whole page in landscape orientation. In fact, we are very very interested in hearing what kinds of templates people are looking for. So, I'll make the 3x1 template regardless, but you can certainly accomplish your goal with the current ones.
And of course, a link to an example would be great. And no it is very much in line with our original mission. We're just getting started!!! :)

I thought I had upgraded flash recently, but I can try again. Also, I am driving an original iMac older than my oldest son, so that could be the prob too.

I'm particularly interested in the "nomenclature" cards. As you can see, the sets are about $60 each. They are beautiful and laminated in very thick plastic, but still. . .

firecattx I think you need to clear your browser's cache and then revisit PageBuilder. It sounds like you have a previous version of PageBuilder on your computer so it's not downloading the latest version.

Once you do this, you should be able to tell if it grabs a new one when the "Loading" widget takes a long time when you start PageBuilder up.

Yes, the number of images that show from Flickr and Yahoo are around 40 per search. We've found that usually the most relevant images show up in the first few results, but we could show more if this is a common request.
